Editorial standards

    Health content you can verify.

Every huuman article is written to help you make better health decisions. Health information can change lives, and it can cause harm when it is wrong, misleading or out of date. That is why every article follows the standards on this page.

    How we weigh evidence

Not all evidence is equal. We rank sources in this order.

    1

    Systematic reviews and meta-analyses

The strongest evidence: pooled data across many studies.

    2

    Randomized controlled trials

The gold standard for cause and effect.

    3

    Observational and cohort studies

Useful for associations. We flag them as such.

    4

    Expert consensus and clinical guidelines

From established institutions such as WHO, EFSA and medical societies.

    How we research

    Primary sources only

Health claims are backed by peer-reviewed studies, clinical guidelines or data from established medical institutions. We link directly to the original research, PubMed, institutional databases and government health bodies, so you can verify every claim.

    Association, not causation

We write “is associated with” or “studies suggest” unless the evidence clearly supports causation. When a finding comes from observational data, we say so.

    Honest about uncertainty

When evidence is mixed, evolving or limited, we flag it. We show what the research supports today, not what we wish it showed. Science changes, and so do we.

    No overreach

We do not present animal studies, mechanistic speculation or single studies as conclusive evidence.

    Before publication

    1

    Research and sourcing

Every claim is identified and matched to a primary source. A claim without a verifiable source is removed or reframed.

    2

    Accuracy review

We check the article against current clinical guidelines and our evidence hierarchy. Causal language is flagged and corrected.

    3

    Source verification

Every outbound link is tested. We prefer PubMed and institutional sources that stay accessible over time.

    How we write

    Evidence over names

We reference studies and institutions, not personalities. Our credibility comes from the evidence we cite.

    No filler, no hype

No scare tactics, no clickbait, no exaggerated claims. If a supplement has weak evidence, we say so. If a habit has strong evidence, we explain its context and limits.

    Useful for decisions

Every article answers one question: what does this mean for me? We include thresholds, benchmarks and practical guidance so you can act on what you learn.

    Plain language

We explain complex science clearly without dumbing it down. Our readers want depth, not jargon.

    After publication

    Regular updates

We review and update articles as new evidence emerges, and every article shows when it was last updated.

    Transparent corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and note the correction. Accuracy matters more than having been right the first time.

    Source integrity

Every external link is verified before publication. We monitor for dead links and replace them.

    What we don't do

No medical advice. Our content is educational and no substitute for professional medical care.

No diagnosis or treatment advice. We do not diagnose conditions, recommend specific supplement dosages or advise on the treatment of disease. That requires a clinical relationship we cannot provide. When a topic crosses that line, we say so and point you to qualified professionals.

No paid coverage. We do not accept sponsored content, affiliate placements or payment for coverage or recommendations.
